That one sign board they all used to see
Shining in his youth it was said to be
Glowing in the dark like another pole star, it seemed to be
the max 20 Speed Limit Board it was to be.
The tallest sign board across the street
Proudly stood among the trees
With power, I see his lean spine and charisma in his bizarre figure
All the speedy cars used to slow down as they approached near
Alluring silver lining like one on a soda tin can
He proudly held the title of ‘Every Female Sign Board’s Dream Man’;
The smirk on his face had confidence
And all was so perfect until
The time went by.
Mr. Speed Limit 20’s shine started losing its glory
All the cars now used to drive fast unlike when they approached slowly
The charismatic figure started losing its glamour
It started bending down lower… and lower.
The women who used to drool over, were no longer interested
“Let’s replace it”; when someone said
The unseen eyes of it filled with tears of sorrow and pain
He realised that he will never live as he used to
Ever again.
After a few days
After a few weeks
A new board Mr.Speed Limit 50 was among the trees
The cocksure young man
The new dream boy of all
Managed to tempt the stunning ‘Beauty 2020 Salon Board’
Mr. Speed Limit 20 was pulled off
The poor soul was thrown off.
After a few months
After a few years
The youth of Mr. Speed Limit 50 started to disappear
One fine morning
Among the trees
A new Sir, Mr. Speed Limit 80 was seen
It had the same smirk
And a body so lean
The same charisma
The beautiful lining of silver
The confidence in his spine increased by 60.
Time flew by
Mr. 80 made others realize he was none other than Mr. 20
Yes, he was back
He was rebuilt from scratch
He proved that he will live as his will says
Again he stood between the trees
Higher than he used to be.
