Dreaming with eyes open, is not something new,
There are many to this, not only a few.
Dreams are the basis of innovation,
Which is necessary to propel forward a nation.
Many Indians too have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Gandhiji; he had a dream
The dream of a nation where brotherhood prevails,
A nation where prosperity and peace is entailed.
The dream of an India, which is just to all,
An India which uplifts those who fall.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Dr. Ambedkar; he had a dream
The dream of an India, where everyone is free,
Where man doesn’t live by caste or creed,
A nation where everyone is at par,
An India which has a vision sighted far.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
As Sardar Vallabbhai Patel has been cited,
Dream for an India where we all stand united,
Dream for a nation of victory,
Dream for a safe heaven that is terror free.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Kalpana Chawla; she had a dream
A dream to fly, fly up so high,
Beyond the limits of the sky,
Breaking all the gender barriers
She dreamed of achieving more and more,
Not wanting to settle for mere domestic chores.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Narayanmurthy; he had a dream
The dream of creating an IT giant,
And so against all the odds, he stood defiant.
He founded the Infosys
Which got India into the business lists.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Dr. Kurien; he had a dream
The dream of making India self-sufficient,
In something that it needed to be efficient
He made the nation’s people strong,
And ensured that everyone could hear the milkman’s song.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Major Dhyanchand; he had a dream
The dream of getting the nation
Its due recognition
In hockey, oh! That wonderful game
He brought laurels to our country
When he achieved the same.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Abdul Kalam; he had a dream
He gave us the formula to succeed,
Aim for Mars, not just the moon,
Aim for the stars, and you’ll get them soon.
Many Indians have had these dreams,
Dreams for our country, big ones indeed.
Let us weave these dreams into an amazing story,
A story of our nation’s strength and glory,
A story that will go on for generations to come,
A story, that inspires all to dream, not just some.
