Because they speak of hope
And it’s so naïve,
They still believe in the shore
Waiting for it after their dive.
Hope is indomitable, but when it’s crushed,
Everything we lived for, turns to dust.
It’s a stupefying thing, belief.
For when it’s ripped apart,
You’re still in so deep.
You still hope for another start.
They say, hope makes the world go around,
But what if it’s destroyed?
Would I still remain safe and sound,
And I’d be dead, but alive?
