Naqiya Barnagarwala, Class VII B
In the valley where I live,
There are birds that sing.
They fly across my house,
Spreading their wings.
Their chirping sounds
Leave me spellbound.
When I spread some seeds,
They all come to feed.
In the beautiful weather,
They spread their wonderful feathers.
Red, orange, pink and yellow,
They are such sweet fellows.
WHEN I WAS A CHILD
When I was a child, to me it was like a boon,
There were no schools and I slept until noon.
Anytime it would be April, May or June,
And I could just watch cartoon.
There was no homework to do, just sit down in the afternoon,
And my mother would feed me with a spoon.
All that was to learn was ABC and then I was free.
No problems or worries I could see.
We friends played together,
I had no studies pressure.
I thought it would last forever.
But now as a teenager,
Early morning I have to wake.
I commit many mistakes,
And now my heart breaks.
