STUDENT:
I once had a dream
A dream, to reach there,
Touch the stars of the sky,
But couldn’t do it
No matter how hard did I try.
I needed a ladder,
To take me up there;
Someone who could
Equip me with skills
And the one who would care
There it was, a gentle touch
And without it,
It might have been tougher;
That voice kept guiding me,
Without showing the pains it had to suffer.
Here I am,
From among the stars,
Looking at you
And do you ask how I did it,
I say, it’s only because of what a teacher can do!
