“Embrace your body, embrace your period.”
An enlightening and empowering workshop focusing on the menstrual cycle and hygiene was held for the girls of Classes VI-VIII on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The purpose of this event was to impart crucial information and foster a positive perspective on menstruation.
The workshop, facilitated by our distinguished educator and school counselor Ms. Aditi Bhattacharya, commenced with a thought-provoking question regarding the evolution of the girls’ preferences since their childhood. This initial icebreaker prompted participants to engage in a reflective worksheet, allowing them to articulate their insights and fostering an atmosphere conducive to open dialogue.
The participants actively engaged in discussions during the interactive session, focusing on the use of menstrual products and the proper disposal of used items. They shared their experiences with menstruation and discussed strategies for coping with emotional and physical changes.
The effectiveness of this workshop was clearly reflected in the heightened confidence and understanding displayed by the girls, a testament to the commitment of Ms. Bhattacharya and our educators. The session served as a space for significant learning, allowing participants to confidently and respectfully manage their menstrual health.
