The students of Class X visited Jhalaria village on April 26, 2023. Up till now, their exposure to this village was limited only to their school campus. This visit was an eye opener for them, wherein they experienced first hand, the life and times of the people residing there.
The academic objective of the visit was to examine the factors of production and interdependence of its requirements and to examine the contribution of non-farming activities to the economic growth of the village. The learning outcome of the visit was to visit a nearest village, analyze and infer how the prevailing farming conditions impact economic development.
The students interacted with the Panch and the Sarpanch of the village panchayat as well as the residents. They gathered information about the population, means of livelihood, availability of medical and other facilities, methods of agriculture, credit facilities, etc.
It was indeed a learning experience for the students to ‘experience’ for themselves, all that they read about in their textbooks.
