Theme: Emerge , Evolve, Elevate
The eighth iteration of the Shishukunj Model United Nations Senior conference was declared open on August 24, 2023 in the Jhalaria campus, with the banging of gavels by the Secretariat and Bureau members as well as truly inspiring words from the Chief Guest Professor Dilip Patnaik, the Vice Chancellor of Medi-Caps University.
With 12 vigorous committees discussing methodical, complex agendas at a greater depth, the delegates were introduced to the world’s most alarming crises and were encouraged to offer pragmatic solutions while complying to formal proceedings, such that they transform into global citizens engaged in the process of Emerging, Evolving and Elevating. Throughout the three days of the conference, almost 700 students from Classes VII to XII engaged themselves in research, debate and negotiation, while keeping in mind the stance of their portfolio and understanding the complexities of society at large with a magnifying lens. With awards ranging from Best Position Paper to High Commendation and Best Delegate, the participants were encouraged to perform well and hone their skills in further intra-school and inter-school MUNs; but more importantly, they were exposed to a continuous state of change in spheres beyond just their communities.
