This time around, it was not a battle of words : instead it was a battle of numbers as students of Classes VI – VIII competed with each other at the Inter House Maths Quiz held on January 14, 2023.
The teams from each house were selected on the basis of a Preliminary Round conducted in the classes a week before. The students were well prepared to face the various Mathematical problems presented to them and answered the questions with great precision and speed. The questions revolved around estimation, approximation, connecting Maths to our day to day lives, etc. The Bidding Round proved to be the most interesting round, wherein students had to BID for a topic of their choice. The Rapid Fire Round saw the students answering a few questions even before the quiz masters could complete the question ! The audience round kept each student in the audience engaged throughout the quiz.
With so much engagement, not only of the participants, but the audience as well, the quiz did not seem like a quiz. In fact, it was rather like a very innovative and collective Maths Class wherein everyone was listening, thinking, guessing and solving the questions posed to them. In other words, the Inter House Maths Quiz was a great learning experience for all.
