After a gap of 02 years the Shri Jugrajji Mehta Word Power Competition was back on January 31, 2023.
Right from the word GO, the enthusiasm of the schools was commendable. 24 leading schools of the city enrolled for this competition almost as soon as the invites were sent to them.
As always, a glossary of 500 words were sent to the students 10 days ahead of the competition and the competition was to be based on these words. While the participants were busy learning these words, the anchors were busy rehearsing their scripts, for after all, they were the ones who would take the show forward.
On the final day, participants of all schools went through a Preliminary Test which assessed their spelling, usage of word, crossword skills ,unscrambling of letters, etc. Based on the scores in this round, the Finalists were selected for the main event. Shishyans Ms. Aarvee Mishra of Class VII and Ms. Namya Doongarwal of Class VIII scored the highest in the Preliminary Round, but being the hosts, did not participate in the main event.
The main event was indeed a battle of words . The rounds were interesting, engaging and tricky !
