The Shishukunj chapter of Rutuchakra recently organized an empowering session focused on menstruation and sports, addressing critical misconceptions and equipping participants with knowledge to overcome challenges related to their menstrual cycles. The session aimed to normalize conversations around menstruation and encourage young girls to embrace sports, even during their cycles.
Mrs.Arti Dangi , founder of YogAhar, an initiative dedicated to holistic health and well being , dispelled common myths about menstruation, emphasizing that it is a natural and healthy bodily function. They debunked the misconception that menstruating individuals should avoid physical activity, highlighting the benefits of yoga and exercise, which can alleviate cramps and mood swings.
Participants learned about practical strategies to manage discomfort, including hydration and proper nutrition .
By fostering awareness and encouraging open dialogue, Rutuchakra empowered students to view menstruation as a natural part of life rather than a limitation. The session reinforced that menstruation should never be an excuse to shy away from sports but rather an opportunity to build strength and resilience.
