The 78th Independence Day Celebration at Shishukunj was an incredible, sublime coalesce of passion, patriotism, brilliant aestheticism and pure artistic skill. Each of the impelling presentations by the Shishyans left every soul in the audience eternally charged, and Shishukunj applauds each contributor to the event for their artistry, efforts and radiance.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the Indian flag, as it unfurled gracefully in the air, embodying the spirit of the nation, the Shishyans stood straight with pride. The solemn moment was followed by the student council leading the students in the oath, of upholding the values of our country. The NCC cadets of the school proudly took the salute of the National Flag.
The festivity officially began with an enchanting, moving musical performance, each line penned by our own Shishyans, while their fellow actors breathed life into their roles with depth that made every heart in the audience come alive. The performance was accompanied by brilliant renditions of all forms of dance performances, including a masterful display of the art of Kathakali, Kathak, and Western dance styles. The entire show left the audience spellbound, the energy in the velodrome a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved. Followed by the Shishukunj tradition of Inter-House Folk Song Competition, the graceful melodies of the Shishyans thread their way through the hearts of the audience, each geet from a new part of India.
The celebration continued with an incredible display of traditional Mallakhamb performance by Shishyans, and as the athletes soared with elegance and strength as the audience was left mesmerized, and time itself stopped to admire the show. The grand finale of the event was a vision of pure joy as the youngest students glided across the stage in a breathtaking skating performance with flags held high.
The event, lovingly crafted entirely by the students with the help of the gentle guidance of our dedicated teachers, eventually came to an end with a touching speech by an alumni of the school Ms. Kopal Mandloi , who thanked the school for grooming her and dedicated all her achievements to the teachers who nurtured her with so much love and affection.
The Independence Day celebrations concluded with a feast of Poha and hot jalebis which were relished by the students and the educators alike.
