The freshly appointed Students’ Council attended a 2 day workshop conducted by Ms. Sarita Badhwar, consultant at AFS India.

This comprehensive workshop offered them a unique opportunity to reflect upon the issues affecting the world and learn about the significance of developing sustainable solutions for how they could contribute to the community in their own small ways to uphold the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Instead of just a theoretical explanation of the 17 SDGs and their targets, Shishyans partook in problem-solving activities wherein they had to choose the issues in their own communities which need their attention and come up with their own practical solutions for the same.

Apart from this, they were asked to ponder upon the question – “Are you a change maker?”
This made them realize the qualities hidden within themselves which resonate with the superpowers of a change maker; all it takes to make a difference is to examine, understand, engage and act with global competence.

This interesting, engaging and of course thought provoking workshop was a great start to the Students’ Council’s journey as student leaders of the school.
