A teacher is a perpetual learner! In order to equip teachers with the latest trends and techniques in the field of education, training programmes are organized from time to time. This year too, before the classes commenced in the month of June, a series of professional development workshops were planned for our team of educators. Conducted by experienced and acclaimed resource persons, the training sessions are sure to add value to the academic programme designed for our Shishyans.
6th June 2023 – Workshop for the English Department by Pearson Publication
Mrs. Ira Sehgal, the resource person, discussed the essential components of the English language and how to make learning more interesting and effective through speaking activities and art integration. Pronunciation and spellings were also taken up as points of discussion. A lot of emphasis was laid on enhancing the students’ reading and writing abilities.
6th June 2023 – Workshop for the Hindi Department by Madhuban Publication
The resource person Ms. Kamna Gupta threw light on the multidisciplinary aspects of lesson planning and the importance of structured writing through fun board games.
7th June 2023 – Workshop by Oxford Publication
The resource person Mrs. Gurjit Kaur Bhatia stressed on a reflective approach for self growth as well as social and emotional well being. There was discussion on the transformational skills required for an effective teaching and learning process. The highlights of NEP 2020 were also incorporated in the session. Mrs. Bhatia stressed on following a multi-disciplinary approach and cross-curricular insights that are woven into tasks and class activities.
8th June – Workshop by Millennium Publication
The resource person, Dr. Kala Mohan, effectively summarised the guidelines for optimum engagement of students and creating a conducive learning environment in accordance with the new education policy. A lot of interaction took place and some of the most useful techniques were discussed.
